Assassin 'bot

Assassin 'bots were robots developed by the Union of Allied Planets as assassins. Barely passable as human in the best of circumstances, they were composed of a combat endoskeleton covered with a rubberized sheath approximating skin. Costing 160,000 credits—or 352,000 platinum—they were so ludicrously expensive to build, so difficult to maintain, and so erratic to deploy that there were only a few dozen left by 2518. They were the sad relics of a program that promised endless battalions of tireless warriors. The Alliance spent a fortune developing these robots and waged an all-out campaign to ensure no one discovered that they even existed.
