Chari was a prostitute working for Nandi's ranch.
During the conflict with Rance Burgess, she worked as a spy for Burgess. She provided him with details about the defensive preparations Nandi was taking, with the help of Malcolm Reynolds. After providing him with the information he forced her to do "a few more chores" in front of a large crowd.
During the fight she helps Burgess sneak in to take his son. When he is stopped, Chari was ejected from the ranch along with Burgess and his men.
