The Trans-U
Trans-U was a type of commercial civilian spacecraft which was long obsolete by the time of Serenity's departure from Persephone. They were nowadays utilized by the vicious, ravenous, widely feared, and cannabalistic Reavers, who were known to captured several intact specimens and heavily modified them into terrifying long ranged raiding vessels.
Overview[]
The Trans-U spacecraft itself was full burn capable and could reach a speed equal to or even faster than that of a Firefly-class transport ship, as the Trans-U was an incredibly fast vessel. Reaver Trans-U we’re armed with Magnetic Grapplers.
History[]
The first ever recorded encounter occurred when the crew of Serenity, unexpectedly encountered such a vessel, as they fled from the Alliance which had been summoned by the mole Lawrence Dobson. The vessel was identified by Wash as an older model Trans-U spacecraft, which was operating without core containment and was quickly revealed to be crewed by Reavers, when the vessel showed itself in full view, much to Malcolm Reynolds and Wash’s horror. The Reaver Trans-U began heading towards them. Malcolm Reynolds warn the passengers and crew aboard Serenity about the Reaver vessel, and told them to stay calm as they were about to start passing them any second. Because they did not alter course to flee, Serenity passed directly beneath the Trans-U and the Reavers were not tempted to immediately seize them, most likely due to having finished a raid and were full.
Unfortunately, this didn’t last long as the Reavers became hungry again and eventually turned around and tracked the crew all the way to the planet Whitefall. The Serenity was quickly pursued by the Reaver Trans-U, chasing it through the canyons and skies of Whitefall. As the Trans-U Reaver crew prepared to fire their Magnetic Grappler in order to board Serenity, Wash initiated a "crazy Ivan" maneuver via going full burn in the planet’s atmosphere, in which caused a huge mid-air shockwave which knocked the Reaver Trans-U spacecraft aside, which most likely lost control and crashed.
A Reaver Trans-U vessel with the exact appearance of the vessel on Whitefall, later appeared among the Reaver fleet during the Universe Battle. It remains unknown as to what became of this Reaver Trans-U vessel. Though it’s possible it was most likely destroyed during the devastating battle.

- The name of this spacecraft is likely a reference to the Trans-Utopian from Starhunter, another sci-fi television show.
