The Firefly and Serenity Database's user image policy is as follows:
- No more than five (5) images should be uploaded which are intended solely for a user page or customized signature.
- User images must be tagged with the {{user image}} template.
- Images being used in actual articles as well as a user's page are not counted toward the limit of five. However, the general user page policy must be followed, and it must also be recognized that a user page is not meant to be a user's main focus on the Wiki.
- Images being used on officially approved, shared userboxes do not count towards these limits.
- Images must be "safe for work": no nudity, or other content which is unsuitable for a family audience, or would be likely to disturb or offend other users.
