Georges Jeanty is the artist for Dark Horse Comics' new comic book series, Serenity: Leaves on the Wind. He has previously worked on the "season eight and nine" comic books of Buffy the Vampire Slayer for Dark Horse Comics. Jeanty said that working on Serenity is a different challenge than Buffy in that when Buffy transitioned from TV show to comic book, everything had been destroyed and he could start from scratch. Serenity is a direct continuation of the movie, so the details in the artwork have to match.

Background information[]

Jeanty was announced as the artist for the series on September 20, 2013 in an article on the Comic Book Resources website.[1] At the time, the writer and publication date had not been finalized. Since then, Zack Whedon was confirmed as the writer and the first issue was released on January 29th, 2014.

A panel titled "Whedonversity: A Look at the future of Buffy and Serenity in comics!" was held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at the New York Comic Con.[2]
