The Gurstler[1] was a type of propulsion engine used on spaceships. The company apparently made its profit through government contracts, as Kaylee mentioned that the Anglo-Sino Alliance cruisers used a number of these types of engines. (A half-dozen mounted under each cooling drive)[2]
