Haven is the first moon of Deadwood in the Blue Sun system. S/2164(Deadwood)01 was discovered in 2164.
The search for a location for the settlement took place during Malcolm Reynolds’ tenure as sheriff in the area. It was previously an industrial area but sat abandoned until it was discovered by some of the crew and the settlement built. Boss Moon stayed there after defecting from the Alliance and saving Serenity.
It was the final home of Shepherd Book after he left the crew of Serenity. It was also a place of refuge for the Serenity crew. It was destroyed by the Operative in his attempt to remove any safe haven for the crew. Book shot down the attacking ship but was mortally wounded doing so.
