Mingojerry Rample

Mingojerry Rample, more commonly known as "Mingo", was the twin brother of Fantastic Rample, better known as "Fanty". They were seen as fences for goods acquired by Malcolm Reynolds and the crew of Serenity. Although identical twins, Mal was able to tell the two of them apart, claiming that Fanty was "prettier." Mal also stated that he could tell the difference between them because "Mingo's voice was a mite higher than Fanty's," and "he could tell one from the other even over a bad wave."[1]

The twins were named at birth by their mother, Mingojerry as a mis-remembered Mungojerrie from Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot, and Fantastic for what she said when she realized that she was carrying twins, meaning she had to give birth again.[1]

Mingo and his twin were most likely killed by the Operative to prevent the Serenity crew from finding any kind of shelter. Mal discovered that many of his contacts were murdered when he summoned their live video feeds.

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Mingojerry Rample was portrayed in the film Serenity by Yan Feldman, with his twin brother Rafael portraying Fanty.

Mingojerry's name may be a reference to the band, Mungo Jerry, a name in turn derived from the T.S. Eliot book of light verse, Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. Fanty and Mingo were also the hitmen brothers employed by Mr. Brown in the Noir classic The Big Combo.
