A Pirate Ship was any ship whose purpose was the boarding of other ships in order to take cargo, parts or persons. This practice was most commonly illegal, however the Alliance was known to contract Privateers to raid outlaw ships. Harken believed Serenity to be a pirate ship in Bushwhacked.[1]
