Port Control

Port Control or Land-lock was a way of preventing a small Craft such as a Firefly-class transport ship from lifting off the ground, by means of a signal sent to the ship's onboard computer. It was used in a form of "law enforcement" on Higgins' Moon to hold Serenity and capture Jayne. A second signal could (and did) release the lock. ("Jaynestown")
