Sheila Grabowski was the pilot on the Odyssey-class space liner OddEasy, serving under the ship's captain, Jamison Meriwether. She was a competent pilot, however, after paying her way through flight school, she had been in debt and was unable to hang onto money that she received. Grabowski took Meriwether's offer of a position on his vessel against her better judgment as she was desperate for money.
