Southdown Abbey is a less-prestigious abbey in Eavesdown on the planet Persephone.
Shepherd Book studied here for many years before leaving to become a missionary, subsequently joining the crew of Serenity.[1] It was here that Book worked in a garden where he grew various fruits and vegetables, such as tomatoes and strawberries, which he brought and shared with the crew of Serenity.
