I've been browsing the timeline and have a question about the start date of 2506 for the Unification war. What underpins this date? I haven't read the comics or novels, except for The Shepherd's Tale. In that story, the downing of the I.A.V. Alexander occurs around 2498 (although I place it 2501 using the timeline of The Shepherd's Tale). This puzzle's me because Book's failed initiative was intended "to end the war in one day." This suggests the war was in full swing years before 2506. Any info on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
